[#video]From the living city to inner abstraction
In Petyka's early works, he primarily used the city as inspiration and as a subject. The starting point was the urban environment and its impact. His creations mixed collages and de-collages, superimposed posters, photos and brushstrokes. The resulting works reflected one by one his experiences of the city.
The theme is the city again, but now in a more abstract form. the urban landscape is built from the form-creating world of personal experiences, abstract patterns and colors. The new pictures bring to life the projections of the inner world, the suggestion, if you like, than the early works. Noise and dirt, a kind of damage, are emphasized in every job. it is nothing more than the monotonous noise of trams and car engines, the smog floating in the clouds, the rust deposited around the railway stations. This is also a part of our city, it is inseparable from it - now it cannot be erased from the pictures either, it is part of it. (Attila Veres)[/video]
