HENIBARA
Her path to design started in an unusual way: she worked as a model for more than a decade, and during her travels she encountered many cultures. In Japan and China, her interest in ceramics deepened, especially objects related to tea ceremonies. It was then that she began to play with clay and experiment with clay. Design as a profession only came into her vision later, and she finally decided to embark on this new path in 2020. She has only been involved in design for five years, but this is precisely what gives her work its freshness and curiosity: sometimes a form or feeling, sometimes the meditative experience of pottery starts her design. In her work, she mainly experiments with metal, wood, concrete and clay. Her first realized design, the IKO tumbling chair, was placed in the front garden of the Középpont yoga studio, and her chairs – the KARTON and the LOOP – were presented at domestic and international exhibitions, including Milan Design Week.
