We had the opportunity to participate in the Green @BCEFW presentations, so we set out and created a completely recycled mini collection of 5 looks, called Equality in Textiles . With this collection, Printa returns to its roots, recycling men's shirts, suits and jeans - something we started 15 years ago. Now we want to put even more emphasis on the differences between textiles used in the two non-apparel industries. We ask the question: why are men's clothes of higher quality? Why are they made of more natural materials, with higher grammage and better weaving? The collection takes this problem as its basis and provides a solution through statement pieces. The clothes are made unique by screen prints with thought-provoking texts that explore the complex dynamics between men and women.

The Equality in Textiles collection breathes new life into previously worn men’s clothing, transforming it into expressive and unique women’s clothing. Each piece is made from high-quality, durable textiles that previously made up men’s wardrobes, challenging the gendered notion of clothing quality. It asks: why should men’s clothing be made from better, more durable materials?

Through this collection, Zita Majoros calls attention to examining important questions about gender roles and perceptions: Does dressing in a traditionally masculine style affect how seriously women are taken in professional and social spheres? How can we maintain our femininity while incorporating elements of men's fashion?

Despite the masculine origins of the fabrics, each piece in the collection is undeniably feminine. The designs highlight the beauty and strength of women, transforming masculine elements into a celebration of femininity.

Equality in textiles is not just clothing – it is a statement. A reflection of the past and a vision of the future, encompassing the belief that through transformation and reinterpretation we can challenge and change social norms. This collection is for modern women who value sustainability, equality and the deep stories their clothes can tell.

With this collection, Printa returns to its roots, repurposing men's shirts, suits and jeans - something we started 15 years ago. This return to the basics underlines our commitment to sustainability and innovation in fashion.
